Hi I’m Angela, I’m a Dru Yoga teacher with a passion for offering gentle mental health aware yoga. I’ve lived in Baulkham Hills for almost 20 years and I’m a Mum and a dog parent to Polly, our 13yr old Shetland Sheepdog.
I love a good cup of chai and pottering around in the vegie patch, trying to grow vegetables before our resident possum finds them first.
I have a background in Occupational Therapy and I would really love to see more people of all ages and abilities, who think they can’t do yoga, discover that they actually can.
A few years ago, I found myself in the midst of managing a busy and demanding career, alongside balancing parenting with supporting ageing parents-in-law who lived nearby. This never felt burdensome, and I felt fortunate to be able contribute, but I was also acutely aware that I needed to find some balance for myself in order to sustain my own health and wellbeing. My muscles and joints ached from sitting at a desk and my mind craved calm and stillness; I felt disconnected and frequently 'living in my head'.
I needed something that would help me to gently move my body without feeling stressful or daunting. Yoga, particularly my weekly Dru Yoga practice, helped me stay grounded and emotionally resilient during this time. I could not have imagined that first day that I would leave the class feeling so calm and rejuvenated…and from that moment on I was hooked.
I have been practicing yoga for almost ten years since then. I decided to deepen my yoga practice by joining the Dru Yoga teacher training course, and since then, I have been drawn to sharing my passion for Dru Yoga with others.
