Easing into January
Welcome to 2026 🌿
As we arrive at the beginning of a new year, I like to pause and gently reflect. Rather than setting firm New Year resolutions, I’m drawn to choosing a word or theme for the year ahead. Something that feels like an intention rather than a rule and is wrapped in kindness and self-compassion.
Intentions feel like a guiding compass. They’re flexible and grounded in the present moment, rather than rigid or target driven.
My word for 2025 was ‘create’. In a very meaningful way, this came to life through the creation of Soulful Life Yoga here in Baulkham Hills. It has been such a joy to teach Dru Yoga and to hold a warm, nurturing space where people can move gently, breathe deeply and reconnect with themselves.
This year, instead of a single word, a quote spoke to my heart:
“Let the beauty of what you love be what you do.”
I’ve chosen this as my intention for 2026. It reflects a desire to align my passions with my actions and to weave what I love into my work and daily life. This naturally means more Dru Yoga, and a deepening of my practice and teaching through further training, particularly in Dru Yoga and back care, so I can continue to offer classes that are supportive, therapeutic and accessible.
Have you found a way to soften the all-or-nothing feeling that can sometimes come with New Year resolutions, and instead honour that true change unfolds gently, over time?
